Frankie Dale

Frankie Dale is a writer, content creation and communications professional with a background in psychology, research and creative storytelling.

With experience across digital marketing, publishing and brand communications, Frankie has worked on everything from content strategy and campaigns to social media, digital assets, video, SEO, media releases and long-form editorial. She has developed brand stories, interviewed and profiled people, pitched and written features, managed digital content, and created communications for diverse audiences.

Frankie has been freelance writing since 2017, contributing to publications including Stuff, Ensemble, Fashion Journal and Salient Magazine, where she also wrote her own column, To Be Frank. Her communications and marketing experience includes roles with Humacology, Te Mahi Ako and Stag & Hens Do NZ, as well as brand and sales experience in New York City.

Alongside her professional work, Frankie holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and has a strong interest in people, culture and the stories we tell about ourselves. Her work brings together research, writing and communications — with a particular love for making ideas interesting, accessible and genuinely engaging.

Frankie’s research explores the relationship between psychology and culture, with a particular focus on sexuality in Aotearoa New Zealand. Her Master’s research examined how young women develop and negotiate their sexual subjectivities — looking at desire, pleasure, gender, agency and the social messages that shape what we think sex and relationships are supposed to look like.

Her work brings together psychological research, lived experience and a love of writing, with a particular interest in women’s, queer and trans experiences of sexuality and wellbeing.
